Product Manager-Merchant Services
Overview:
Two Barrels is hiring a Merchant Services Product Manager to join our PM team. You will be a traditional company employee. This is a full-time, 40-hour M-F position with company benefits. We have offices in Spokane, WA; Austin, TX; and Salt Lake, UT, but this position can be remote.
Two Barrels is organized via products. We run over 50 products, and our products are only as good as an inspired product group. As the Merchant Services Product Manager, you will work closely with our Merchant Services team and stakeholders. You’ll have access to a full stack of skill sets to own our product, run our product, and establish your own product vision, benchmarks, standards, KPIs, and goals for your product. So if you don’t have to google “merchant services” or “tokenization,” this role might be for you.

- Define the product, learn what has already been developed
- Create a strategy for where we want to take the product and how to stay competitive
- Manage regulatory changes that affect product offering
- Contribute to the financial success of merchant service products, including pricing strategy and growth opportunity identification for products/services
- Define what the development team needs to build by collecting needs and requirements from the merchant service operations teams
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges in Merchant Services and payment processing that require in-depth evaluation across multiple areas
- Communicate across all 2Barrels and operations teams to lead projects and gain traction
- Gather feedback from merchant service clients and employees/stakeholders to continuously improve merchant service products and the processes
- Collaborate and communicate with company stakeholders, present product progress and setbacks
- Conduct competitive analysis
- Sift your way through all this nonsense and get stuff done how you see fit for your product
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Product Manager Certificate, or unmatched talent
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience working as a Product Manager in a development environment
- Knowledge and understanding of credit/debit/EMV card processing, encryption, and tokenization methods
- Prior experience working on merchant service products
- Ability to analyze and define business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for developers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and customer-centric approaches
- Good communicator with active listening skills, comfortable communicating in high-stress environments
- Demonstrated fluency in tools like Excel, JIRA, and Confluence
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading projects to delivery
- Ability to talk with different stakeholders (Business vs. Technical Language)
- Experience creating a product roadmap and connecting the needs of all inside and outside stakeholders
- Experience with product development and all product life cycle stages, from introduction to decline
- Experience with merchant service market analyses, pricing, and product business justification
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience working with merchant service products
- 2 years of experience in checkout, payments, and Fin-tech is a big plus
- Demonstrated product delivery experience commercializing new opportunities from concept to reality
- 1 year of experience with merchant service market analyses, pricing and product business justification
- Deep understanding of how to analyze, quantify, and articulate trade-offs of product roadmap features with a passion for creating seamless customer experiences
- Experience developing and supporting retail, e-commerce, payment facilitation, and marketplace solutions
- Resource allocation skills
